Overview
Position:
Procurement Specialist —
Location:
Washington DC (some remote days available)
• Clearance:
Secret
• Salary:
Up to $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
- Assist in RFQ (Request for Proposal) process and BOM (Bill of Material) generation.
- Assist with tracking, monitoring, and coordinating deliveries with distributors to ensure timely arrival of goods and services.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure positive relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with regular stock counts, and participate in inventory audits; works directly with inventory management.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports as needed; assist Procurement Manager with reporting and/or meetings.
- Assist Procurement manager to ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract requirements.
- Assist with cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assists with collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify needs and support other departments.
- Assist Customer with Manufacture Dates, EOL (End of Life) and Item Cost data base assignments
- Process purchase orders, customer notifications, and maintain procurement documentation.
- Participate in regular inventory audits and stock management.
- Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Data accuracy in procurement documentation.
- Response time on assigned tasks and projects.
- Purchase order cycle time and accuracy.
- Supplier relationship index and accuracy.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - AD/BS 0-2 Years Experience or HS Diploma with 6-8 Experience
- Prefer minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, and/or supply chain roles preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Understanding procurement of best practices and regulations is beneficial.
The Procurement Specialist plays a supportive but vital role in ensuring the company runs smoothly by managing supplier relationships, facilitating accurate and timely purchases, and maintaining compliance. The role requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and an aptitude for communication and negotiation within a fast-paced environment.
