Job Description:

The Director of Business Development - U.S. is a senior leader working closely with the Group Head Business Development and other senior management stakeholders to drive company growth through strategic partnerships, new market opportunities and revenue expansion. As a key bridge between sales, marketing, and product development, this leader plays a critical role in shaping the company's future in the U.S. and securing its competitive advantage for the orderbook and delivery of FNPPs.

In today's fast-paced business landscape, this role embodies the implementation of the company’s vision and is the linchpin that connects innovation with revenue, and vision with execution.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the U.S. FNPP leadership team, the Director Business Development U.S. plays a multifaceted role that spans, strategic planning, revenue generation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, cross-functional collaboration, and market research. The following sections break down the key responsibilities of the role:

Strategic Planning and Execution

Developing and executing long-term growth strategies that drive FNPP revenue expansion in the U.S. This involves:

  • Identifying new market opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Analysing market trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions.
  • Developing and refining business cases for new initiatives and investments.
  • Thinking strategically, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals, and making data-driven decisions to drive growth.

Revenue Generation Leadership

Generating FNPP revenue in the U.S. through strategic partnerships, new business development, and longer-term sales leadership. This includes:

  • Setting and achieving revenue targets.
  • Developing contracting strategies and orderbook forecasts.
  • Possessing strong sales acumen, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth.

Stakeholder engagement and Relationship Management

Building and maintaining strong relationships in the U.S. with key clients, partners, and stakeholders is critical to this role. This includes:

  • Developing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
  • Representing the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Negotiating and closing high-value deals.
  • Being an exceptional networker, able to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborating effectively with other departments, including Market Development, Product Development, Product Delivery, Finance and Legal. This involves:

  • Working with the Market Development team to develop targeted campaigns and messaging.
  • Collaborating with the Product Development team to align FNPP offerings with market needs.
  • Collaborating with the Product Delivery team to shape operational business models and customer solutions.
  • Coordinating with finance to ensure profitability of new ventures.
  • Coordinating with Legal to develop and execute contracting strategies.
  • Being a strong communicator, able to navigate complex organizational dynamics and drive alignment across departments.

Market Research and Analysis
