On-Call Events Coordinator

Position OverviewGeorgetown University in Qatar (GU‑Q) is seeking a pool of On‑Call Events Coordinators to support the Events team. Coordinators will assist in the coordination and execution of various events hosted by GU‑Q. The role requires availability to cover shifts between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm with flexibility for evenings and weekends. The anticipated start date is February.
Key Responsibilities- Support on‑site event management: oversee event setup, registration, guest assistance, catering, and overall logistics.
- Execute day‑of event tasks, including setup, greeting guests, managing catering services, and post‑event cleanup.
- Assist with equipment set‑up, signage, and materials distribution.
- Coordinate event registration processes, track attendee lists, and respond to inquiries.
- Work closely with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Attend required training programs to become familiar with event coordination processes.
- Provide support during high‑demands weeks, conferences, and commencement activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Relevant work experience in event planning or similar roles, with strong ability to execute event‑related tasks confidently and efficiently.
- Experience demonstrating problem‑solving skills, resourcefulness, and adaptability in dynamic event situations.
- Availability for 8:30 am‑5:00 pm blocks with coverage for evenings and weekends as needed.
- Part‑time, non‑sponsored position; requires locally based candidates only.
- Must already have sponsorship to live and work in Qatar.
- Training will be provided for 1‑2 days prior to agreed shifts.
