Position OverviewOur Client is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with commercial construction experience to join our dynamic team. This role plays a critical part in pre-construction success by developing accurate cost estimates, preparing competitive bid proposals, and collaborating across departments to ensure project profitability and alignment with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, project plans, and specifications
- Prepare comprehensive material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
- Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Develop and submit competitive bid proposals in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and suppliers to validate assumptions
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating tools for future use.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and contract requirements
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
- 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience (including hardware/doors/finish systems a plus).
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proven experience preparing detailed estimates and proposals.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills — both written and verbal
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required.
