Job Details:
We are seeking a seasoned and ambitious Construction Superintendent for our commercial projects division. This role is for a dynamic professional who is proficient in managing commercial construction projects and supervising all development stages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and a proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget. The Construction Superintendent will be directly responsible for overseeing the construction process, managing subcontractors, working with clients and architects, and ensuring that the project complies with all safety and building codes.
This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
- 1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing blueprints, and ensuring that projects are completed within the predetermined timeline and budget.
- 2. Implement a comprehensive project schedule and adjust as needed to ensure timely completion.
- 3. Conduct regular inspections to ensure that the work complies with building codes, quality standards, and the project specifications.
- 4. Manage and coordinate tasks for subcontractors and laborers, ensuring that everyone is working to their full potential.
- 5. Maintain a safe and clean job site, implementing and upholding safety protocols.
- 6. Resolve any issues, problems, or delays that occur on the construction site.
- 7. Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders about project progress and any changes in the plan.
- 8. Conduct risk management assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- 9. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- 10. Handle contract administration, including negotiation and management.
- 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
- 2. Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
- 3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- 4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control, and safety protocols.
- 5. Excellent understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- 6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- 7. Proficient in project scheduling and budgeting.
- 8. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- 9. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- 10. Proficient in risk management and contract administration.
- 11. Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- 12. Certifications in health and safety management, preferred.
