The basic purpose of this full-time position is toassistan estimator for a small, fast-growing construction company specializing in finishing hardware for multi-family residential construction. Must be familiar with reading blueprints, detail-oriented and have strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc. Prior use of Adobe Acrobat would be helpful but is not required.
Good communication and organizational skills area must.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Team players needed foran established company founded in Virginia, with long- term contracts in the Florida, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., markets. Specializing in Division 10 material installation.
- The work involves installing door hardware, shower doors, bath accessories, wireshelvingand many other items within new apartment buildings.
- Fast cordless drill with two batteries, drill bits, tool belt, hammer, 24" plastic level, razor knife and hardhat.
- Installers are responsible for quality control and their tools. Installers will drive directly to their job location; therefore, reliable transportation is required.
- Good references area must.
Compensation:
- $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Options to work as a 1099 subcontractor oremployeewithoptionfor benefits. Hours are full time.

We are looking for experienced Estimators and Assistant Estimators to join our team. These roles involve preparing precise project cost estimates and a sales component that includes engaging with clients to understand their needs, offering customized solutions, and helping secure contracts.
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential for success in these positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimation process for projects, including reviewing multiple sets of blueprints such as architectural, interior design, and landscape plans.
- Review project specifications, conduct material pricing, and coordinate open communication with team members, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Develop detailed takeoffs, project summaries, cost breakdowns, budgets, and estimates to ensure competitive bidding.
- Confidently engage directly with general contractors to gather project details, submit estimates, and negotiate terms to close deals.
- Oversee scheduling, manage the project until handover to project coordination, and maintain records for estimation activities.
- Analyze market trends and material costs to optimize pricing strategies.
- Submit and review submittals with product data and shop drawings promptly after the project has been awarded.
- Enter data into Quick Books, Microsoft Office suites, Procore, Building Connected, and similar project websites.
- Review best and final exhibits, scope sheets, RFI’s, and ASIs.
- Gather data, perform detailed takeoffs, and prepare initial cost estimates.
- Support client communications, including follow-ups and clarifying project details and scopes.
- Handle pricing materials, scheduling, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Keep records and support process management with tools like Quick Books and Microsoft Office.
- Assist in sales activities by preparing presentations and addressing client questions.
- Reviewing the best and final exhibits, scope sheets, RFIs, and ASIs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimation (3+ years for Estimators; no prior experience required for Assistant Estimators—ambitious learners are welcome).
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and strong analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and Quick Books; prior use of Adobe Acrobat is helpful but not required.
- Similar experience and good references are preferred for estimators.
Compensation:
- $19.00-$28.00 with benefits ($39,520.00 - $58,240.00 per year)
