Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical projects.

The Electrical Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. This role will work closely with project managers, vendors, clients, and contractors throughout the estimating and pre-construction process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and overall project cost estimates.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
  • Prepare bid proposals and submit documentation for management review.
  • Maintain estimating databases and update pricing information.
  • Track bids and prepare weekly bid status reports.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers on change orders, ASIs, bulletins, and project pricing.
  • Assist with pre-construction activities, including project setup, schedules of values, and material procurement.
  • Support project turnover meetings and post-construction reviews.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
  • Manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or trade/technical certification in a related field, preferred.
  • Experience in electrical estimating, electrical contracting, or construction estimating preferred.
  • Knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience with cost estimating, budgeting, and bid preparation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, estimates, and deadlines simultaneously.
