Digitization Specialist

Location:

Washington, D.C. (On-site at DIA Facility)

Digitization Specialists perform hands-on scanning and processing of historical aerial and satellite film using specialized equipment. They ensure accurate metadata tagging, secure data transfer, and image quality aligned with NGA standards.

• Retrieve, inspect, clean, repair, and prepare film for scanning
• Operate scanners including Meridian Dragon, DSW
  700, Flex Scan, Copi Book
• Meet production requirement of 10 cans/day
• Convert imagery into TIFF, GeoTIFF, NITF formats
• Perform metadata tagging and quality control checks
• Follow DTO, clean-room, and safety procedures

• Experience with imaging systems, film scanning, or digital archiving
• Familiarity with GEOINT tools (ENVI, ArcGIS, Next Star) preferred
• Understanding of TIFF, GeoTIFF, NITF formats (training available)
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods
