Overview

Texas Licensed Physician Reviewer - Neurological Surgery. Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services. This telework opportunity is for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. We are looking for a Texas-licensed physician to address the medical necessity of treatment requests and, in appeals, the medical necessity of previously denied services.

• Review medical necessity of treatment requests and, in appeals, the medical necessity of previously denied services for Neurological Surgery when in scope.
• Complete reviews in a timely manner; average time spent on most reviews is 15-20 minutes.
• Participate in training and onboarding with the potential to start earning compensation quickly while maintaining an active practice.

• Current, unrestricted Texas Medical License
• Active Practice
• Board Certified

• Independent consultant role provides schedule flexibility; choose services and case types, dictate volume, and work based on availability
• Advisory-only opinions; no doctor-patient relationship or treatment provided
• Typical turnaround time (TAT) of 1-5 business days; same-day cases possible;
  Dane Street coordinates administrative tasks to allow focus on clinical decision-making
• User-friendly work portal; streamlined case flow; assistance with medical records, communications, and reports
• Access to chronology of medical records and treatment guidelines used for determinations
• Peer-to-peer coordination when necessary and ongoing support from Dane Street
• Initial training and ongoing contact for questions about completing reviews
