Position Description Summary
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent non-profit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking academic surgical pathologists to join the faculty in the Department of Pathology. We are expanding our clinical services, including genomic and molecular pathology, digital and computational pathology, and innovative research programs.
These non-tenure track faculty appointments, expected to start as early as Fall 2025, will be made at a rank (Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) and salary commensurate with experience.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities include providing clinical service in cytopathology and surgical pathology subspecialties with special interest in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary and pancreas pathology, and may consider breast, GYN , genitourinary, renal, thoracic, and lung pathology; teaching residents, fellows, and medical students and maintaining an active research program as independent investigators or in collaboration with other clinicians and basic investigators. We are also considering applicants with surgical pathology training and certification in molecular genetic pathology or expertise in digital and computational pathology.
Applicants with strong research backgrounds in digital and computational/AI pathology, who can establish principal investigator-led research, may be considered for appropriate research support and laboratory space. A leadership role as Director of Surgical Pathology or Director of Anatomic Pathology will be considered for candidates with relevant experience.
Minimum Qualifications
MD, MD/PhD, PhD or equivalent; board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment; eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia; and fellowship training and/or experience in general surgical pathology and/or a subspecialty area of surgical pathology or cytopathology.
Advertised Salary: $258,000 to $450,000
