• Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects
• Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages
• Provide technical and training support to structural engineering staff
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.
• Assist in preparing qualification packages, proposals, and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling
• Provide project management support
• Lead structural inspections/evaluations and associated load capacity ratings
• Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews
• Assist project managers with coordination between various groups working on structural projects (e.g., highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges; commuter rail stations; marine structures; energy projects; retaining walls)
• Participate in the proposal process, determining client requirements and developing plans, specifications, quantities of materials, construction cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents.
• Prepare technical reports and sections of proposals and/or contracts

• Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents, and developing contract plans in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures.
• Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software:
  Mathcad, FB-Multi Pier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, Merlin
  
  DASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.
• Model‑based design experience is a strong plus, including:
  • Bentley Open Bridge and Open Roads
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor
• Self‑motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing.
• Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff.
• Project management and mentorship skills.

• 8 years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required
• B.S. in Civil Engineering required (structural emphasis preferred)
• PE license required

The base salary range for this position is $115,000 – $165,000 for the Washington, DC location. This offer is determined based on a number of job‑related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
