Duties Help
* You will serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing scientific, technical, and professional cost guidance on all aspects of acquisition programs.
* You will review and assess overall acquisition program progress and develop cost estimates and analysis based on planned technical and schedule parameters.
* You will ensure all cost analysis is based on current program information, liaising with engineers, Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, and contractor representatives.
* You will prepare and defend program plans to develop funding requirements and life cycle cost profiles, and track and manage financial performance for assigned programs.
* You will assemble and provide information and advice regarding assigned program areas to senior officials in the chain-of command.
* You will maintain technical expertise through continuing professional education and training, symposiums, and liaison with other appropriate Navy and DOD activities. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications For the NH-02:
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the basic education requirement for this position outlined in the education section of this announcement. Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
For the NH-03:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) with the following:
Performing Life Cycle cost estimates and analysis for weapons system acquisition programs. The primary requirement of operations research work is competence in the rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis rather than in the subject matter of the problem. Therefore, applicants should have sufficient knowledge of applied mathematics to understand and use the fundamental concepts and techniques of operations research methods of analysis. In addition, some positions may require knowledge of a specific subject area.
Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science.
