Amentum is searching for a Top‑Secret cleared Systems Engineer (Mid) to join our team in Washington, DC. You will be working in an organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The entire section leverages agile and works to provide enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities to facilitate task management, cross‑utilization, and address national intelligence priorities while protecting confidential data and sources.

The Systems Engineer (Mid) is a part of a team that will lead large scale data analysis projects to design and deliver on‑premises and cloud‑based applications. The Systems Engineer (Mid) will provide direct support in the day‑to‑day operations on network hardware and operating systems including evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.

The Systems Engineer (Mid) will troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. The Systems Engineer (Mid) will perform systems management and integration functions. You will diagnose and resolve complex communication problems, and perform systems management and integration functions and ensures systems are current with approved patches and assists with certification and system accreditation tasks, composes SOPs, and Quick Reference guides for users.

The Systems Engineer (Mid) will advise on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development and advise on feasibility of potential future projects to management.

• Supervise, coordinate and/or design, develop and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
• Provide direct support in the day‑to‑day operations on network hardware and operating systems including evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
• Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols.
• Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
• Perform systems management and integration functions, exhibiting proficiency with virtualization technologies and network administration.
• Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
• Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by government.
• Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.
• Design, deploy, evaluate, test, certify, patch and address interoperability issues for base storage & backup system and all related components and application dependencies.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, Quick Reference guides, and technical documentation for users.
• Provide top‑level technical expertise responsible for design and development of a client/server environment.
• Develop strategy for client/server systems and design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
• Set standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization.
