Job Summary

GETNA Service Technicians provide field service support on complex electro-mechanical systems in more than 26 national locations. They perform installations, training and assist with software integration. In addition to technical aptitude, this high visibility, customer-centric position will also provide our customers with consistent, high-level, all-around service and attention.

The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. This is a requirement for this position.

All offers of employment are contingent upon one's eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance sponsored by GETNA.

** Having an ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE is a plus *
* Security Clearance is not required prior to applying; GETNA will begin the security clearance process once the right candidate is selected.

Unfamiliar with the Security Clearance process? No problem! Our Security Team will walk the selected candidate through the process.

NOTE:

This not a software, IT or Networking based position

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and support all equipment maintenance efforts, conforming to customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance calls. Documenting each maintenance action with time, labor, meters, resolution notes and parts used.
  • Maintain accurate on-site service inventory at assigned Washington DC facilities.
  • Assist Operators and System Admins to troubleshoot issues they encounter while using our systems and provide actionable steps to resolve problems.
  • Maximize the use of hardware and software by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions; providing feedback.
  • Contributes ideas to improving operating instructions to be used by end users, collaborating in a Work Group setting.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Other assignments as requested by Management.
Job Requirements (Minimum)
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of State Security Clearance prior to starting work.
  • Up to 25% of regional Washington Metro travel for backup site coverage.
  • Up to 10% travel for backup coverage nationally or for training requirements.
Academic Qualifications (Desired)
  • Comp Tia A+ certification or other relative Technical Certifications.
  • 2 year Associate's degree in a Technicial or Diagnostic field.
  • 4 year Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline (preferred).
Please Note:

Equivalent Professional experience is taken into consideration if Academic Qualifications are not available.

Professional Experience
(Minimum)
  • 1-year experience in a support role and/or Help Desk (2+ years preferred).
  • 2-4 years Electro-Mechanical experience in a hands-on technical environment (5+ years preferred).
  • Must have a familiarity with Electro-Mechanical devices and automation equipment.
  • A solid working knowledge of thermal printing or laser printers would be an asset.
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and be competent in disassembling and reassembling complex mechanical devices.
  • Capable of working independently and effectively in a Team concept without direct supervision.
  • Proficient with MS Office business products.
  • Excellent communications skills.
