Consulting Services at GE Vernova is a team that has comprehensive, global experience in power system studies and in-depth experience analyzing shunt and series compensation, SVCs, FACTS, HVDC, synchronous condensers, and power plant and transmission system dynamic controls.
Our global team has more than 500 person-years of professional experience with leading power system analysis software tools like Positive Sequence Load Flow (PSLF) software and Multi-Area Production Simulation (MAPS) software, as well as Siemens PSS/E, DigSILENT Power Factory, Aspen, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP, other commercial applications, and many specialized in‑house tools. Our team also has deep experience with voltage control and reactive planning issues as well as the tools and procedures that are most effective in studying them.
We perform detailed steady‑state, voltage and transient stability studies of regional transmission systems, generation interconnections, and renewable generation impacts, as well as specialized studies of sub‑synchronous resonance and torsional interaction.
As a member of the Consulting Services Grid Integration and Stability, the successful candidate will be an active contributor to the GEVernova business initiatives related to power systems, power generation equipment, power electronics equipment and services, and data center applications.
Essential Responsibilities- Perform technical analysis related to power electronic and power systems control of renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, large industrial drives, FACTS, and data center applications
- Support customers with powersystems engineering expertise; including modeling, analysis, equipment design and specification, control development, and failure mode analysis
- Create, modify, and parameterize simulation models representing GE products such as wind turbines, solar inverters, battery storage, and thermal units
- Evaluate gridcode compliance and impact of renewable projects in bulk power systems
- Support continuous development of transmission and distribution products associated to inverter‑based resources (Wind, solar and storage) and thermal units including those for data center application for evolving codes and standards through participation in industry standards groups and leading innovative approaches to power system analysis
- Perform power system transient studies, and detailed equipment modeling using appropriate software tools
- Effectively communicate results to both internal and external customers by preparing detailed written reports or presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions
