Payroll Manager

Our nonprofit client in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to lead their end-to-end payroll operations. This individual-contributor role focuses on the technical and accounting integrity of the payroll process, requiring a professional who combines financial fundamentals with a service-oriented approach when collaborating with external stakeholders and diverse educational partners.

Salary: $40 - $46 per hour |

Education:

Bachelors.

• Full-Cycle Administration: Execute multi-state payroll ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ceridian Dayforce Management: Act as primary administrator for system configuration, troubleshooting, and workflow automation.
• Payroll Accounting: Perform monthly reconciliations for payroll-related GL accounts, including taxes and benefits.
• GL Integration: Manage mapping and posting of payroll journal entries to ensure accurate cost center allocation.
• Tax & Compliance: Oversee quarterly/annual tax filings, W-2/1099 distribution, and regulatory updates.
• Reporting & Analytics: Generate custom reports for labor cost analysis, variances, and headcount.
• Audit Support: Lead point of contact for 401k, Workers’ Comp, and financial audits.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices to enhance accuracy and speed.
