A high-growth technology company
, recently acquired, is seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Operations Consultant to support critical post-merger integration and operational continuity.
This engagement is designed for a hands-on, independent operator who can step into a fast-moving environment, take ownership of key accounting operations, and ensure stability during a period of heightened activity. The consultant will play a central role in maintaining payroll and accounts payable continuity while supporting system transitions and integration-related work streams.
This is not a backfill or purely transactional role — it is a stabilization and execution engagement where sound judgment, accountability, and speed matter.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations & Close-Out- Own payroll-related activities using Paylocity
, including support of final payroll runs during the transition period. - Manage multi-state payroll close-out activities across 20+ U.S. jurisdictions
, including coordination of state and local tax matters. - Ensure payroll records, reports, and historical data are properly retained, documented, and accessible for audit and compliance purposes.
- Serve as the primary payroll point of contact during the transition, resolving issues independently as they arise.
- Maintain continuity of accounts payable, expense reporting, and corporate card activity using Ramp
. - Oversee invoice processing, coding, routing, and payment execution with accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure uninterrupted vendor payments and employee reimbursements during integration.
- Support preparation for a planned transition from Ramp to new AP and expense platforms later in the engagement.
- Operate autonomously to identify gaps, risks, and process breakdowns during the post-acquisition period.
- Partner with Finance and HR stakeholders to resolve payroll, benefits, and operational issues.
- Support audit and compliance requests by maintaining clean documentation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Provide structure and clarity during a period of change by proactively driving tasks to completion.
This role is best suited for a seasoned accounting or finance operations professional who has supported organizations through mergers, acquisitions, or periods of rapid change

- 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance operations.
- Hands-on experience with Paylocity payroll processing (required).
- Experience managing multi-state payroll and payroll-related tax matters.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable and expense management workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently
, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions with limited direction.
- Master’s degree and/or professional certifications (CPA, CMA, or similar).
- Prior experience in high-growth technology or SaaS environments
. - Experience with Ramp or comparable AP/expense platforms.
- Exposure to post-acquisition integration or transition scenarios.
- Familiarity with audit or SOX-adjacent environments.
- Payroll and AP operations remain accurate, timely, and disruption-free
. - Knowledge transfer occurs efficiently, minimizing dependency on departing team members.
- Integration-related tasks move forward without creating additional burden on internal leadership.
- The consultant is trusted to make decisions independently and execute without daily oversight.
