We are partnering with a well-established, mission-driven organization to identify a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, operations, and governance.

This opportunity is intended for seasoned finance executives only. The client is not considering candidates seeking their first CFO role or a step-up into executive leadership.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience operating in a senior-level finance leadership role, with demonstrated accountability at the executive and board level.

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
• Must come industry experience out of:
  Associations (preferred) Nonprofit organizations (secondary)
• Educational (may be considered)
• Background within associations, nonprofit organizations, or education-adjacent environments strongly preferred
• Proven success overseeing organizational budgets in excess of $30M

• Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and modeling
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial strategy, risk management, and sustainability
• Present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards

• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations (including Form 990), and multi-state tax requirements
• Manage the annual audit process and relationships with external auditors and financial institutions
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policies

• Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes
• Deliver timely, accurate, and accessible financial reporting
• Promote fiscal transparency and financial literacy across departments

• Oversee cash flow management and short-term investments
• Monitor and manage investment portfolios in alignment with board-approved policies

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
• Oversee and optimize financial systems and reporting tools
