Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law and policy in an innovative, fast-moving environment. We are seeking a creative, highly-skilled and motivated attorney to join our Litigation and Government Investigations team to provide strategic legal support to our Government Affairs and Policy teams. This role will focus on advising the Government Affairs and Policy teams and senior management on complex policy issues, statutory and regulatory interpretation, and legal strategies to protect the Company's interests.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health care law, litigation, administrative procedure, and experience operating in a high pressure, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Candidate will act as a key legal contact for the Government Affairs and Policy team providing strategic legal advice and support for advocacy and policy development.

• Advise senior management on legal options to advance policy goals, protect the Company's interests in the policy space, and advance the Company's policy positions.

• Provide legal analysis and strategic counsel on policy positions and arguments related to state and federal policy.

• Develop innovative and creative legal and litigation strategies to advance and protect the Company's interests in a complex policy environment.

• Interpret state and federal statutes and regulations and assess the legal authority of federal agencies in the context of health care policy.

• Support the development of advocacy strategies and administrative interactions that align with legal and regulatory frameworks.

• Support interactions with trade associations, including PhRMA and BIO.

• Engage with external parties, including counterparts at other companies, government agencies, outside counsel, and trade and professional associations.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on issues involving federal health care programs and state and federal legislative initiatives.

• Develop legal strategies to help shape regulatory and policy environment through litigation.

• Develop and deliver training and guidance to internal teams on lobbying compliance and related legal obligations.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including federal government, in-house, or law firm experience focused on health care, regulatory, or government affairs matters.

• Experience with state and federal health care programs, fraud and abuse laws, FDA, FTC, and the legislative and regulatory process.

• Familiarity with Administrative Procedures Act litigation.

• Background in health care or life sciences litigation is a plus.

• Experience working with or within federal agencies or Capitol Hill is a plus.

• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Princeton - NJ - US: $221,340 - $268,212

Washington DC - US: $221,340 - $268,212
