The Department’s mission is to improve the health and well‑being of underserved populations around the world. It offers a PhD in Global Health Sciences and an MPH in the following tracks:
Global Health Epidemiology and Disease Control;
Global Health Program Design, Monitoring & Evaluation;
Global Health Policy & Systems;
Global Environmental Health;
Humanitarian Health; and an online MPH. Faculty expertise ranges from reproductive and maternal health to health economics, infectious disease, and humanitarian health.
The successful candidate will build on the department’s excellence to extend its transdisciplinary reach, leverage university resources, effectively manage the department’s organizational structure and research operations, and mentor junior faculty and students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead strategic planning and institutional positioning of the Global Health Department.
- Develop and grow interdisciplinary research and teaching programs.
- Establish and nurture collaborative partnerships, especially with institutions in the Global South.
- Mentor junior faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students.
- Represent the department within university affiliates and external stakeholders.
The Chair must hold a doctoral or terminal degree (PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD) and be eligible for tenure in Global Health. Applicants should have:
- Achievements commensurate with appointment at the full Professor level.
- Proven leadership, excellence in research, teaching, service, and mentoring.
- A demonstrated commitment to scholarship with a record of funding support and peer‑reviewed publications.
- Experience leading and fostering collaborative, equitable partnerships in global health research and translation.
- Significant hands‑on experience in international settings, particularly in low- and middle‑income countries.
$275,000 - $400,000
