Job Title

Emergency Department (ED) Technician – Full Time – The George Washington University Hospital

The George Washington University Hospital is a 385‑bed academic medical center in downtown Washington, DC. Affiliated with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, we are committed to clinical excellence, innovative research, and health care education.

The ED Tech supports physicians, nurses, and other care team members by delivering hands‑on clinical and logistical support to patients in the Emergency Department.

• Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, assist with splints, wound care, and orthopedic procedures
• Assist with patient transport, mobility, and hygiene
• Collect lab specimens and conduct point‑of‑care testing
• Maintain supplies and clean patient care areas
• Assist with patient monitoring and comfort measures
• Document care activities in the electronic medical record

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• EMT or CNA certification
• 1 year of experience in acute care is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure situations
