Position: Clinical Nurse Educator (514569L10)

The Team

Join our award-winning team of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Clinical Facilitators who work across the North West of Tasmania as patient safety guardians. We build the clinical skills of the whole multidisciplinary team to respond to patient deterioration. We develop innovative evidence-based programs to build the clinical competence of nurses across the spectrum of practice. Participate in whole of health service simulation exercises.

The Role

Clinical Nurse Educator in the Medical Day Procedure Unit at Mersey Community Hospital is a day worker position specialising in providing education support to a team of oncology nurses who also provide complex day procedures to people living with chronic conditions such as motor neurone disease.

You will need
  • Expertise in oncology nursing
  • Teaching in clinical practice experience and knowledge
  • The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

This role works closely with the Clinical Nurse Educators from the Northern Cancer Service, the Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Educators and the Central Venous Access Device Clinical Nurse Educators to ensure that staff in the Medical Day Procedure Unit are highly trained to manage complex oncology and medical patient day procedures.

Details of appointment
  • Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from May 2026.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in the area of clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
