Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment requiring a DC RN license and strong telemetry skills.

Job Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care teaching hospital,

• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week, with every other weekend required,

• Assigned patient ratio is 1:5,

• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity,

• Unit consists of 16 rooms/beds caring for cardiac telemetry and medical/surgical patients,

• Uses Cerner EMR and Pyxis for medication management,

Job Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, or proof of pending status at time of consideration,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience,

• At least 1 prior travel assignment required,

• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms,

• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac telemetry, feeding tube care, IV therapy including PICC line and peripheral line management, and IV starts,

Additional Information

• Providing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry,

• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required,

• Flu vaccination is mandatory for all employees,

• Every other weekend coverage is required (6 weekend shifts per contract),
