Description:
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Tier III Network Engineer to join our team on-site in Washington, D.C. This position is in support of a contract with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The Network Engineer Tier 3 will have an in-depth knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 and the maintenance of computer systems and computer environments.
Requirements:
* Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
* Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, applying security patches and optimizing systems for reliability and efficiency.
* Support network design and project execution, providing technical input and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Manage network assets and data center infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, and lifecycle tracking.
* Implement and enforce security protocols, backup solutions, and disaster recovery plans to ensure system resilience.
* Provide client support and documentation, lead or assist in network projects, and stay current with emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
* Cisco Router and switch configuration (IOS/NX-OS), Palo Alto Next Gen Firewall and VPN configuration experience,
Experience with General Dynamics Taclanes and/or GEMOne
* F5 Load Balancer Knowledge, GTM/Big DNS Knowledge
* Technically proficient and experienced with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems, network security, network traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability analysis, packet analysis, and systems hardening.
* possesses proficient knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing protocols, encryption protocols, communication protocols. Examples include but not limited to: TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, NTP, etc.
* Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Performance Tuning
* Ability to identify, track and complete tasks for multiple projects under prescribed time frames.
* Top Secret Security Clearance Compensation: * $160,000-$170,000/a year
