Position Summary:

We are looking for a mid-to-senior level System Administrator to support a secure, hybrid Microsoft 365 and Windows Server environment within a federal agency. This position requires expertise in identity and access management, endpoint and policy management, and support of day-to-day server and infrastructure operations. Emphasis will be placed on M365 tenant administration, Azure Active Directory, Teams Voice, and effective use of ticketing systems and change control processes.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: GOVERNMENT CONTRACT - MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and related software.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, One Drive), including licensing and security configuration.
  • Support Microsoft Teams Voice, including call plan configuration and Teams Phone System management.
  • Manage user identities and group policies via Windows Server Active Directory and Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD).
  • Support file and print server infrastructure, domain administration, DHCP/DNS services, and GPO.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune for device compliance, app deployment, and endpoint protection.
  • Perform server maintenance tasks (patching, performance tuning, hardware upgrades) across physical and virtual systems.
  • Utilize ticketing systems for incident, change, and service request management.
  • Follow agency-approved change management procedures and ensure detailed documentation is maintained.
  • Perform backup/restore operations and DR testing using enterprise backup tools.
  • Collaborate with cloud and network teams on shared infrastructure responsibilities.
  • Provide technical training to users on the use of IT systems and software.

Preferred Skills and Tools:

  • Deep knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or macOS systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Understanding of LAN, WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and network security protocols.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for creating and managing virtual machines.
  • Microsoft 365 tenant and license management
  • Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, and MFA enforcement
  • VMware vSphere/vCenter
  • Microsoft Intune and Autopilot deployment
  • Knowledge of system security practices, intrusion detection systems, and data backup/recovery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview Records Management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a system administration role in a mid-to-large enterprise or government environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required by government agency.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server AD, and virtualization platforms.
  • Preferred

    Certifications:

    Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator, M365 Enterprise Admin Expert, VMware VCP.
