Position: Sr. Cloud Engineer II (5877) with Security Clearance
The Sr. Cloud Engineer I will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. This role requires expertise in Azure architecture, automation, security best practices, and Dev Ops methodologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with federal standards. What you'll do:
* Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), Virtual Networks (VNets), Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
* Automate Azure resource provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Ansible.
* Implement Azure cloud security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), Azure DDoS Protection, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, encryption at rest/in transit, and alignment with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD compliance standards.
* Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab, Jenkins, and Azure Dev Ops Pipelines to streamline deployments and improve delivery velocity.
* Utilize Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, and Azure Activity Logs to track system health, troubleshoot issues, and enhance performance.
* Configure and optimize Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Azure DNS, Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, and Express Route for secure and scalable connectivity.
* Support Azure cloud migrations and hybrid environments, integrating with on-premises infrastructure using Azure Arc, Azure Migrate, and Azure Site Recovery.
* Develop automation scripts using Python, Power Shell, and Bash to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
* Implement Azure backup strategies, including Azure Backup, blob lifecycle management, and snapshot automation.
* Work closely with government agencies, Dev Ops teams, and security engineers to align Azure-based solutions with mission objectives and compliance requirements. What you'll need to succeed:
* You have an active Secret security clearance with eligibility for Top Secret
* Ability to be onsite in Washington, DC 5 days/week.
* Minimum 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, Dev Ops, or systems administration, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure environments.
* You have experience leading a team of cloud engineers, providing guidance on AWS best practices, Dev Ops strategies, and cloud security frameworks.
* You have an Azure Solutions Architect certification (preferred) or equivalent Azure certification.
* You have strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory (ADD), encryption, security monitoring, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, DoD security standards).
* You have hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git Hub, and Azure Dev Ops services.
* You have experience working in multi-cloud and hybrid environments integrating Azure, and on-premise infrastructure.
* You have strong proficiency in Azure networking services (Virtual Networks, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, Express Route, or Azure Load Balancer/Application Gateway).
* You are proficient in Python, Power Shell, Bash, and YAML/JSON for cloud automation and system management. SALARY RANGE: $128,000 - $170,000 The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
* The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
* The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
* Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
* This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of Metro Star, which may include:
* Performance-based bonuses
* Company-paid training and/or certifications
* Referral bonuses
