Your role and responsibilities

As an IBM Associate Consultant within Federal Consulting, you will help IBM clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities, and understand leading technologies and their impact on traditional business processes.

In this role, you may be responsible for:

  • Learning and adopting consulting skills and business knowledge to effectively integrate packaged technology into the client’s business environment.
  • Translating client’s business needs into business requirements and participating in the production of solutions to drive business value.
  • Working with clients to refine or design their business strategy while working in an agile collaborative environment.

This role requires candidates to work on‑site 5 days a week at the Washington, DC office.

These positions are anticipated to begin in Summer 2026.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the U.S. federal government.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%

  • Ability to understand clients’ needs and challenges and apply a creative and logical approach to identify solutions. Open to assist clients in design, architecture, process development, functional implementation, and support of applications.
  • Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and ability to derive recommendations informed by data and insights and experience mapping capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment, able to build direct working relationships across all levels of the IBM and client team.
