Captioner; CART, Typewell, Court Reporter, Stenographer) Regions

SLUSA is looking for CART captioners to provide both in-person and remote captioning/transcription service. If providing service in person, it would be in the DC metro region including northern Virginia and the entire state of Maryland.

Captioners must have a minimum of 2 years documented and verifiable professional experience as well as a valid certification through The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). Please note certification must be "CERTIFIED" not "Registered". While CRC is the most common, we will accept any certified level through NCRA.

Captioning and transcription service can include a variety of settings including medical, educational, business, public event, presentations, etc.

Captioners working in person must have their own equipment appropriate for the event. Remote captioners may utilize SLUSA's Stream Text and Zoom accounts.

Captioners are paid an hourly rate determined by certification, experience, and if the service is provided in person or remotely.
