Lead Product Counsel – Youth Regulatory Readiness
Meta’s Product Counsel organization provides strategic legal advice and risk mitigation to product, engineering, and business teams across Meta’s family of products and services. This role supports product teams focused on youth users and cross‑Meta services.
Base Pay Range$202,000 – $274,000 per year
Responsibilities- Support youth risk, product, and engineering teams on projects involving youth regulatory readiness globally, delivering practical legal risk assessments and mitigation strategies and coordinating with cross‑functional partners to drive decisions on external communications, policy development, product development, and product launches.
- Provide holistic legal advice across many subject areas including data protection/privacy, content regulation, online safety, and consumer protection.
- Lead consensus building and drive coordination with other members of the Legal team.
- Maintain subject‑matter expertise in youth laws and regulations, develop resources for cross‑functional partners and other members of the Legal team, and provide training.
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm and/or in‑house.
- Experience with one or more of the following or related legal areas: product, privacy or regulatory counseling.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated business judgment and client counseling experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or in‑house.
- Experience with international legal requirements, especially those related to youth privacy/data protection, content regulation, and/or online safety.
- Product counseling experience at a technology company.
- Experience prioritizing work and providing advice in a deadline‑driven environment across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
- Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters and supporting a broad portfolio of clients.
