We are seeking a paralegal in our Washington, DC office to become a key member of our nationally recognized real estate finance team representing clients in structuring, documenting, closing, servicing, and restructuring real estate loans. This is a great opportunity to handle not only traditional real estate paralegal responsibilities, but also additional responsibilities critical to the team. This position is hybrid and offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in our Washington, D.C. office.

Your Role

As a Paralegal within our Finance department, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing documentation for closings, including organizing, proofreading and assembling documents for transactions involving multiple properties and maintaining large deal files.
  • Drafting loan and assignment documents; assist with drafting of loan servicing memoranda.
  • Conducting due diligence review.
  • Reviewing organizational charts and documents.
  • Coordinating with title companies and reviewing title, survey and zoning documents.
  • Coordinating closing and post-closing logistics including closing binders.
  • Preparing UCC Financing Statements.
  • Managing online SharePoint sites. Researching industry databases, publicly available information from local governments and other sources, and applicable law.

    Skills:

    Intermediate-level skills working with Microsoft Office applications, document management systems and time‑keeping software are necessary.
Required Experience

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years prior experience as a paralegal in real estate finance or transactional finance. Excellent drafting and oral communication skills required. Experience with multi-family, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, CMBS and secured lending transactions involving all real estate commercial asset classes is highly preferable. Experience with title and survey review is necessary. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a strong cohesive team.

Intermediate level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel) and document management systems. Overtime work available.

The salary range for this position is from $90,000 - $100,000, which reflects the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate's experience and qualifications.
