Our client is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations in George . This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of the company's purchasing activities, driving cost savings, and enhancing supplier relationships. You will manage a team of procurement professionals, develop category strategies, and ensure the supply of critical materials and services meet the company's high standards and business objectives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, strategic sourcing expertise, and a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, fostering innovation and efficiency within the purchasing department.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies for key categories of goods and services.
- Oversee the negotiation of major contracts and supplier agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Implement best practices in procurement, including risk management, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and R&D departments to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and economic conditions to proactively manage supply chain risks.
- Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a significant portion in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in advanced procurement software and analytics tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Experience managing complex, international supply chains.
