Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage projects to improve the US Coast Guard’s human resources and talent management through workforce transformation, structural changes, data analytics, and risk management. The role involves providing expert project management and change management services to identify initiatives and implement organizational, digital, and process improvements across the USCG, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet required quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets that meet the requirements of stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project execution, including setting goals, objectives, and priorities.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, and develop and implement effective contingency plans to minimize potential impacts.
  • Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders on a regular basis, including providing timely and accurate updates on project status, issues, and changes.
  • Ensure compliance with established project management methodologies, standards, and best practices, including those related to quality, safety, and environmental management (e.g., PMBOK or Agile).
  • Communicate project status, issues, and changes to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and timely manner, including providing recommendations for corrective action as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and store project documentation, including project plans, status reports, lessons learned, and other relevant records, in accordance with USCG’s document management policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Project Management.
  • USCG organizational knowledge and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience implementing a Change Management methodology for an organization.
  • Experience applying an Agile methodology to project management activities.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an advanced level.
  • Proficient in common applications, such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (e.g., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). D&G Support Services will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.
  • Completed Agile or Scrum Master training.
