About the role:
The Associate Director of Mobilization is a key position with Indivisible’s Mobilization team and manages a portion of the Mobilization Department. The Associate Director of Mobilization reports directly to the Mobilization Director and is responsible for implementing a portion of Indivisible's mobilization infrastructure, including host support, communications, training, and other aspects of distributed grassroots mobilization efforts for both Indivisible-led and coalition campaigns.
This role manages two staff, ensuring coordinated execution of programs that maximize grassroots power across the nation. The Associate Director of Mobilization works closely with colleagues across Indivisible and key partners in the pro-democracy ecosystem to design, implement, and scale mobilization strategies that support both planned and rapid-response priorities.
This role may require limited travel to support organizational priorities.
What you'll do:Program Implementation - 60%
- Work with the mobilization department to provide input on and assist in implementing mobilization strategy aligned with organizational and coalition goals.
- Implement and manage distributed programs that engage grassroots members and leaders in both planned and rapid-response work.
- Manage program outcomes, produce debriefs, and provide insight into program efficacy.
- Serve as a thought partner across the department, working to ensure operations team members are aware of actions/updates.
- Adhere to budgets for the Mobilization Department and assess spending changes that may impact larger budgets.
- Implement Indivisible’s mobilization infrastructure to support large-scale national and coalition campaigns.
- Relay any mobilization trends, data, and campaign developments to inform program design and execution.
- Manage the creation and management of external-facing tools, documents, and other support items, including but not limited to host toolkit creation and host training materials
- Interact with and lead coalition calls and host support calls.
- Manage the Mobilization Support team, supporting their development and oversight of program teams
- Facilitate team meetings, manage workflows, and foster collaboration within, and when applicable, across the department.
- Ensure the Mobilization Department operates effectively and efficiently in coordination with the broader organization and ecosystem.
- Creating and implementing work plans and development for Mobilization Support staff, and identifying training opportunities for the Mobilization team.
- Act as Indivisible’s direct liaison for mobilization work within coalitions, ensuring grassroots capacity is aligned with broader movement priorities.
- Represent Indivisible’s mobilization arm with state and local partners to coordinate joint mobilization campaigns and events.
- Respond to emerging political moments by rapidly deploying grassroots mobilization strategies.
- Strengthen relationships with allies, partners, and grassroots leaders to maximize impact.
- Working to ensure that coalition partners are supported by the Mobilization department
- 3+ years of experience in organizing, training, mobilization, or campaign work, including but not limited to electoral campaigns, advocacy campaigns, or large-scale volunteer programs.
- Experience managing staff and leading high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to implement and refine large-scale mobilization, training, or organizing programs.
- Familiarity with grassroots organizing models, distributed organizing, and coalition work.
- Strong skills in program evaluation, data-informed strategy, and rapid response planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

Qualifications:
- Existing relationships within the progressive mobilization and organizing ecosystem.
