Cath Lab Technologists
Fulfills the needs of patients, families, and community by performing a variety of patient care functions and tasks in accordance with licensure, certification, training and regulatory requirements. Responds effectively to new and changing work assignments.
Responsibilities- Delivers care to the patient in a competent, capable, caring, and efficient manner.
- Assesses, observes, and records signs and symptoms indicative of changes in the general condition of the patient.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and adjust plan of care and adapt to changing priorities as delegated.
- Assesses, observes, and reports pertinent and significant patient responses to treatments and/or procedures.
- Provides patient and/or family members with explanations of condition as necessary and written information when possible.
- Recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health teaching of patients and relatives.
- Documents patient teaching and patient understanding of the same.
- Participates, as requested, in on‑unit clinical orientation of supplemental and/or new staff.
- Is competent to perform multiple tasks required to complete procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Operates the Physiological Monitor, Philips Radiography Equipment, Intra‑vascular Ultrasound, Cardiac Defibrillator, Aortic Balloon Pump and other equipment used in day‑to‑day operation of the Cath Lab.
- Recognizes cardiac dysrhythmia and informs physicians and nurses.
- Performs scrub role for diagnostic, intervention, and peripheral procedures.
- Performs a variety of clinical interventions as specified in the department’s competency/skills checklist.

- Degree in related field (BA, BS, BSN, AA) or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience
- Must be certified
