Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a DC license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and proficiency in Cerner for a multidisciplinary intensive care setting.
Responsibilities
Work in a multidisciplinary ICU providing care to neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
Use advanced technology including ventilators, intracranial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, continuous pulse oximetry, CRRT, gastric tubes, and intravenous infusion pumps
12-hour rotating shifts (AM/PM), 3 shifts per week
Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients across multiple specialties in a high-acuity ICU environment
Utilize advanced monitoring and life-support equipment in daily patient care
Support and collaborate with a multidisciplinary critical care team
Individualized orientation and ongoing support provided
Holiday coverage may be required based on schedule
Compliance with scrub or dress code is necessary

Requirements
Active DC RN license required at the time of consideration
Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience required
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only) required
Cerner EMR experience required
2 years of recent experience in a U.S. hospital ICU setting required
Completion of CPI training mandated by position
BSN highly desired
Must live at least 25 miles from the facility to qualify for traveler status
Social Security card, driver’s license, and proof of COVID and flu vaccination required prior to consideration
Two recent manager or supervisor references preferred
