Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU (Transplant) position in Washington, DC, requiring BLS, ACLS, and a DC RN license.
Responsibilities
• Work in a Transplant ICU unit within a hospital
• Care for patients with complex multi-system conditions, including post-neurosurgery, organ failure, transplants, and acute stroke
• Day (7:00–19:30) or night (19:00–7:30) shifts, working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekends included in the schedule rotation
• Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Responsibilities include care for critically ill transplant patients and application of advanced ICU protocols
• Must adhere to infection prevention and isolation precautions, including use of PPE
• Annual Flu vaccine is required
• Orientation and supplemental training provided as needed
Requirements
• Active DC RN license required prior to start date (pending accepted for later starts with proof)
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience managing dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, IV insulin, GI surgery, renal failure, CVA/acute stroke, EVDs, hypothermia protocols/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery, spinal/brain injuries, respiratory/thoracic care, infection prevention, isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and wound care with wound vac
• Charge nurse experience preferred
