In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, Mobilize Green will offer a residential Youth Conservation Program in the Summer of 2026. The Mobilize Green‑Forest Service YCP program is a three‑week residential program where youth ages 15‑18 live and work together as a team. YCP Members work on conservation‑related projects during the day and are introduced to environmental education, leadership, personal development lessons, and outdoor recreation activities during the evenings and weekends.
The YCP experience is a unique introductory program that can create memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Weekly stipend is $375 per week.
Location:
Northern Minnesota & Southern California (Location subject to change).
Term: 3 weeks; full‑time (40 hours per week), on‑site.
Cohort:
- June 2026
- July 2026
YCP Conservation‑Related Work Projects include:
- Trail Maintenance
- Habitat Management
- Environmental Stewardship
- Fire Dependent Ecology and Management
- Invasive Species Removal
- Site Beautification
- Beach/Community Cleanup
- Campsite Restoration
- $375 per week
- All travel costs covered (including round‑trip flights)
- All housing and meals covered for the duration of the program

- Work with other high school students from across the country
- Explore outdoor and recreational activities during program hours
- Learn about natural resource management careers
- We encourage all youth to consider applying. No experience required.
- Must be at least 15 by June 1, 2026, and not older than 18 before August 31, 2026.
- Must be enrolled in school or a 2026 graduate.
- Must be able to fulfill essential functions of the assigned work with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must have a valid U.S. Social Security number or have applied for one by the start of the program.
- Selected 18‑year candidates must pass a background check.
- Must be able to obtain a work permit under the applicant’s home‑state laws.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Able to hike about 5 miles per day.
- Able to perform up to 35 hours of physical labor per week.
- Willingness to use hand tools for digging, sawing, chopping, etc.
- Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to experience rustic living and introductory camping.
