Job DescriptionInsight Global is seeking 2 Electrical Inspectors to support multiple vertical construction renovation projects in the Washington D.C. area for one of our largest clients. These individuals will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for electrical systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of electrical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.
Dayto Day Responsibilities
- Monitor the installation of wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems to confirm proper execution
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems
- Conduct detailed inspections of electrical installations, materials, and equipment for adherence to contract specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Coordinate with other inspectors and disciplines to resolve electrical system integration issues
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications
- Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions
- Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance
- Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life‑threatening safety conditions
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking
- Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts
- Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start‑ups
- Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications
- 8+ years of total experience
- Federal experience or university experience vertical/renovations
- Commercial electrical experience
- NEC/NFPA familiarity and ability to review drawings and specs
- Understanding of local code
- CQM-C
- University experience/federal
- Owners representative experience as an electrical inspector
- Procore
$50.00/hr to $55.00/hr. + Paid Time Off
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
