We are seeking a Data Quality Specialist to support the maintenance and quality of information contained within Shoreland's databases. This position is responsible for researching, validating, updating, and quality-checking information to ensure that data remains accurate, complete, and current.
Position SummaryThe Data Quality Specialist is responsible for researching, verifying, entering, updating, and maintaining information within Shoreland databases and content management systems. This role focuses on data accuracy, consistency, and quality through the application of established standards, procedures, and quality control processes.
The ideal candidate possesses strong research skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently process large volumes of information while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Success in this position is measured not only by productivity, but by the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the information maintained within the database.
This is a research and information management position, not a software development, programming, data analytics, or IT support role.
Primary Responsibilities- Research, verify, and update information using a variety of authoritative sources
- Enter and maintain data within Shoreland databases and content management systems
- Review records for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established standards
- Perform routine quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities to identify and correct errors or discrepancies
- Compare new information against existing records and reconcile conflicting information
- Identify missing, outdated, duplicate, or inconsistent data and take appropriate corrective action
- Apply established content, formatting, and data-entry standards consistently
- Maintain documentation related to updates, corrections, and quality control activities
- Communicate with internal and external contacts as needed to obtain clarification or verify information
- Meet established productivity and quality expectations while managing multiple assignments
- Support ongoing efforts to improve database quality and operational processes
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data entry, data maintenance, records management, content administration, research, quality assurance, quality control, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to research and verify information from multiple sources
- Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, content management systems, or similar information repositories
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications
