Tax Associate (Real Estate/REITs) — Wash, DC

Our AmLaw 100 client is building out its DC tax bench for real estate and REIT work. The platform handles complex, high-value assets and cross-border structures, with national recognition across Real Estate and Tax by leading directories.

• Advise on REIT structuring, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, capital markets and financing matters tied to real estate assets
• Draft and negotiate tax provisions in transaction documents
• Partner with Real Estate, Funds, Capital Markets and Corporate teams across offices on tax-driven deal architecture and execution

• Law school class years 2019–2022
• Solid tax foundation with hands‑on exposure to real estate, including REITs
• Excellent research, writing and analytical skills; creative problem‑solver who can navigate novel issues
• DC location required

• High‑caliber matters at a top firm in this space, consistently recognized by Chambers USA, with strong Real Estate and respected Tax rankings
• Mentorship and training that are structured and accessible, including confidential coaching, live and on‑demand CLE, and partner mentorship
• Healthy firm momentum and resources that support ambitious associates, reflected in recent industry reporting on growth and profitability
• Compensation: $260,000–$390,000 base, plus discretionary performance bonus; comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, paid time off, parental leave, life insurance and FSAs
