Nest DC manages homes with care. We tend to rentals in Washington, DC proper, with a specialty in scattered site rentals and small multi-family properties. Our residents live in single family homes, condos and apartments. We do this work because we know how important it is to nest. We know how to deliver results for our owners, and great living experiences for our residents.

$35–40/hour (depending on experience). Must have a car. Must have experience in rental/for sale property walkthrough and evaluation. Strong familiarity with DC.
Early evening and weekend hours are particularly helpful with daytime availability as well

Nest DC is seeking detail-oriented, reliable, and people-friendly team members to join us as Part-Time Showing & Property Walkthrough Specialist
. We need seasonal team members who are comfortable showing and evaluating residential rental properties in Washington, DC proper. A great fit is someone with real estate experience, specifically making sure property is in excellent condition before residents move in.

This support role gives us more coverage in evenings and weekends so we can move more quickly and deliver a great experience for our clients and our residents. Having availability to evenings and weekend is a goal. You will show homes to prospective residents or conduct property walkthroughs for turnover, maintenance and condition status and readiness for and quality checks with detailed information about the condition (aesthetic, mechanical etc, appliances, paint, cleanliness, codes) rental while it is getting prepared for residents.

You play a direct role ensuring our homes are secure, welcoming, and resident-ready. On-time and on-budget for our clients. This is a part time temporary role with a minimum three month commitment. Twenty hours minimum is expected. Evening and weekend availability is important.

• Meet prospective residents and show available properties across DC.
• Deliver a hospitality-first experience

• Answer basic questions about the property and Nest DC standards.
• Handle keys responsibly and keep scheduling tight and professional.
• Be a friendly, knowledgeable face of Nest DC in the community.

• Conduct thorough property walkthroughs with digital assistance.
• Document the condition of each property, including taking quality photos

• Flag maintenance, cleaning, or safety issues that need attention.
• Ensure each home is up to Nest DC-level standards
  : clean, fresh, safe, move-in ready.
• Collaborate with the Nest DC team while working independently in the field.

Your own vehicle (non-negotiable; vehicle use stipend provided).
Smartphone to take photos, upload reports, and manage scheduling. Strong attention to detail and responsibility with keys. Comfort with technology (apps, scheduling tools). Hospitality mindset — friendly, professional, reliable. Ability to work independently and problem-solve in real time
. Familiarity with DC neighborhoods (or willingness to learn quickly). Willingness to work some evenings/weekends
. Comfortable climbing stairs and traveling between properties

• Candidates who are personable, customer-service oriented, and enjoy engaging with people. Candidates who are detail-focused, handy, or have experience in property management, trades, construction, or facilities or real estate inspections and showings
