Summary: Our Washington, D.C. office is looking for a Manager, Prospect Research. This role will support the organization’s growing prospect research program with a focus on major gifts. The Manager will conduct extensive qualitative and quantitative research and deliver actionable reports and insights to front-line development staff to support their donor acquisition efforts, working collaboratively with regional managers to ensure research efforts are aligned with the organization’s development priorities.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct research on prospective major donors and provide information to front-line development staff, including the donor's wealth, philanthropic interests, giving history and relationship mapping/sphere of influence.
- Provide actionable insights and detailed research reports to front-line development staff to enhance their donor acquisition efforts.
- Prepare short biographies on donors and prospects for regular events happening across different regional offices.
- Assess and assign estimated gift capacity ratings and other relevant prospect codes based on research and analysis.
- Update and maintain research-related areas of the CRM database, entering new biographical, relationship, and financial information.
- Monitor requests sent to the research email inbox, respond to requests for research, and evaluate requests to determine the appropriate level of detail required.
- Analyze and synthesize data to identify patterns and trends that can inform fundraising strategies.
- Keep abreast of trends and best practices in major gifts fundraising and prospect research.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all research activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in prospect research or 5+ years in development or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with experience using a variety of research tools and databases, such as Donor Search, Wealth-X, Wealth Engine, Rel Sci, Pitchbook, and Foundation Directory Online.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM databases is desirable.
- Strong writing skills. Must be able to draft concise research documents with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Curious, self-motivated, and eager to be challenged with complex research projects.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices, particularly in the area of major gifts fundraising.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the pro-Israel community and its philanthropic and political activities a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
AIPAC is offering a competitive market base salary between $88,000.00 and $ for the position. A job offer within the range will depend on how closely a candidate's skills and experience match the role's requirements. AIPAC also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees’ overall total compensation package. We currently work remotely two days a week and in our offices the other three.
