Position Summary
The Retail Customer Service Associate consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all clients, using consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. The employee is knowledgeable in all store business areas—including print, signs & graphics, and shipping—and is responsible for taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending Fed Ex Office products and services.
The Associate operates and maintains a variety of equipment, manages the production queue and output, handles complex projects, and completes assigned tasks based on priority.
- Follow supervisor instructions and assist other team members with store functions.
- Assist in training store team members.
- Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized need.
- Provide expertise in printing, signs & graphics, and shipping product lines and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Provide outstanding customer service by anticipating needs and finding solutions.
- Resolve customer problems quickly and to satisfaction.
- Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing.
- Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping, wrapping, weighing, and labeling.
- Set up and operate printing, binding, and related equipment using customer‑supplied media.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store.
- Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages.
- Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal, including cash handling and change.
- Clean, repair, and stock all printing and shipping equipment and supplies.
- Stay current on merchandising materials and ensure proper display.
- Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
- Complete required financial paperwork and assist with reporting (daily sales, close‑outs, bank deposits).
- Adhere to Fed Ex Office SOPs and all legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
- Perform multiple tasks concurrently.
- Identify opportunities to improve knowledge and skills.
- Operate with minimal supervision and adhere to store standards.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 6 months of specialized experience in a retail or customer‑service environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must meet all Fed Ex Office employment qualifications in force at the time of hiring.
- Current Fed Ex Office team members must meet hiring criteria and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- Stand throughout the shift (excluding meal and rest periods).
- Move and lift up to 55 lb.
- Bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Perform work activities that require cooperation and instruction.
- Function in a fast‑paced environment under substantial pressure.
- Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the Fed Ex Office business.
Pay: $20.75 – $24.37 /hr.
