- Engage with team members to ensure appropriate onboarding, training, and development.
- Identify talent and conduct career discussions to support staffing and a diversified talent pipeline.
- Conduct candid performance discussions to uphold Meijer standards and foster growth.
- Accountable for area operations and financial results, implementing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity while managing budget line items.
- Drive safety and compliance throughout the store, managing overall condition and following all procedures.
- Ensure Team Leaders assign daily work assignments and meet training needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4+ years of retail, grocery, or customer service experience.
- Progressive leadership experience preferred.
- A passion for providing industry‑leading service.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear, precise direction.
- Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
- Proactive, creative thinking applied to business challenges.
- Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs and drive sales and market share.
- Strong business acumen and innovative attitude.
