Snack Bar Operator; Potomac Lanes

About the Position

This position will be assigned to the Potomac Lanes Snack Bar on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. The work schedule is flexible with no guaranteed hours but could work up to 40 hours per week.

This position's primary responsibility is to perform check‑out duties. The position may be assigned to various Non‑appropriated Fund activities in which customers pay for items and/or services. Sells a variety of merchandise items such as prepackaged snacks, drinks, candy, etc. Coordinates the sale of food snack items and the preparation and sale of short‑order items. Ensures the proper preparation, portioning, display and price marketing of food items and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures.

Maintains sales records and accountable documents. Maintains security of work areas, cash, fixed assets and merchandise inventory. Ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations. Operates cash register, rings up the sale, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charges to member's account. the end of each tour of duty clears the cash register, turns over cash and supporting documents.

Performs daily inventories. Maintains a clean and orderly working area. In a Food Activity:
Performs check‑out duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales; receiving money; and making change. May perform related food service duties such as assisting in setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, chopping lettuce, tomatoes, etc., and ensuring kitchen staff is advised when buffet line needs replenishment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
