Our Profile

In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

Butcher

The Butcher is responsible for the preparation, portioning, and presentation of meat products for large-scale meal services. This includes ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are met in a high-volume, fast-paced remote kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and
  • Prepare meat cuts for display or sale, including portioning, weighing, and
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of all meat
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering meat supplies
  • Sharpen and maintain knives, cleavers, and other cutting
  • Provide customer service when working in a retail setting, including taking special orders and offering preparation advice.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene
  • Dispose of waste and by-products in a safe and sanitary
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
  • Certificate III in Meat Processing / Butchery (or equivalent trade qualification)
  • Proven experience as a Butcher in a commercial or industrial kitchen environment
  • Strong knowledge of meat hygiene, storage, and safe handling practices
  • Ability to work in a high-volume production kitchen (e.g., catering for 100+ persons per meal)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team under minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting heavy items
Working Conditions

Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.

Compensation Package

1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
