• The Electrician performs all necessary functions in the operation, preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs of all electrical systems and equipment throughout the calculators hospital.
• Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
• Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits. Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
• Assists in isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter or testing lamp.
• Assists in mounting motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completing circuits according to diagram specifications.
• May dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

• High School graduate or G.E.D.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the field of electricity.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• ruč Licensure or equivalency:
  Licensed as a Journeyman Electrician or higher by the District of Columbia or the ability to obtain a DC Journeyman License by Exam which involves the following requirements: 4 years' experience /8,000 hours; W2's/1099s/Tax records and Employment Verification Letter and NEC Code Class Certificate. Employment verification letters must be signed by a master‑level licensee. Must successfully pass the DC Exam within one year of starting employment to maintain position.

Salary Range:
Minimum $29.71/hour – Maximum $49.02/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
