About

This Role

This position is for a Facilities HVAC technician who is under minimal supervision. Lead lower‑level staff in examining facilities and evaluating elements. Lead lower‑level staff in development of procedures, repair, maintenance, inspections and work instructions for operation of equipment. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a Facilities HVAC Technician, you will be primarily responsible for working with HVAC Field Technicians in the installation and repair of environmental control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts.     In this position you will establish & maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co‑workers through effective oral and written communication skills with all stakeholders. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including repairs, replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers.
Role Purpose
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NORESCO and customers’ Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, field technicians, and customers to thoroughly understand the requirements of the job, examine building layouts, the equipment, and review all contract requirements.
  • Represent the company by serving as the direct customer contact; responsible for servicing products and equipment at assigned project/s, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems.
  • Inspect air‑conditioning units to ensure efficient operation. Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units. Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions. Install, replace, or repair equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls.
  • Install new heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning components and equipment; repair or replace low and high‑pressure liquid lines.
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems, clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions. Assemble and install metal ductwork.
  • Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems. Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air‑conditioning systems.
