Overview

Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. Base outside of the initial description aims to create an onchain platform that is open source, free to use, and globally available, with decentralization and security at the core. Base is incubated within Coinbase and plans to progressively decentralize. It is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack, and the team contributes to it as a public good.

We are looking for a strong Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend leaning) to join the Base team with emphasis in backend onchain engineering to enable and accelerate the success of Base.

• Building and maintaining backend Golang systems that power Base
• Working with Kubernetes and Cloud services to automate and maintain critical blockchain infrastructure
• Engaging in research and prototyping of ideas to improve efficiency and scalability of blockchain clients

• You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering or systems engineering
• You have developed and shipped features of core backend systems at massive scale
• You are familiar with current trends and best practices in infrastructure and systems design
• You write high quality, well tested and maintainable code

• You’re comfortable with Golang, Geth, Foundry, Solidity, or other crypto tools
• You have contributed to open source crypto projects, for example OP Stack contributions or Base contributions
• You’re familiar with Kubernetes or cloud providers such as AWS or GCP

Pay Transparency Notice:
Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range:

$186,065—$218,900 USD
