Job Description

We are seeking a Kubernetes Development Engineer to join our platform team, focused on Kubernetes and cloud-native systems, including Red Hat Open Shift and other managed Kubernetes platforms (GCP GKE, AWS EKS, Azure AKS). This role involves extending Kubernetes/Open Shift capabilities (e.g., building operators, controllers, CRDs, and webhooks) and supporting machine learning workloads in production, including exposure to Open Shift AI products.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of how Kubernetes/Open Shift manages workloads and resources internally and can troubleshoot, optimize, and scale cloud-native systems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Golang or Python, with experience extending Kubernetes or Open Shift using operators, controllers, CRDs, or webhooks. Experience with other managed Kubernetes platforms (GKE, EKS, AKS) is also acceptable.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes/Open Shift control plane internals, including how the system schedules, manages, and reconciles workloads across clusters. Deep understanding of fundamentals, scaling, multi-cluster Kubernetes environments, and security.
  • Containerization:
    Proven expertise with Docker, understanding of the container ecosystem, and experience running containers in production (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
  • Scripting & Automation:
    Proficient in Python or Go, experience with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins for automation and configuration management.
  • Kubernetes Networking:
    Knowledge of networking concepts including Ingress controllers, Network Policies, and Service Mesh (e.g., Istio).
  • Monitoring Tools:
    Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog for observability in Kubernetes environments.
  • Logging Solutions:
    Knowledge of logging solutions like ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Fluentd for aggregating and analyzing logs.
  • CI/CD:
    Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous development pipelines.
  • Hands‑on software development with CI and CD, enterprise application development, and cloud automation.

  • 7 years hands‑on software development experience, with a focus on continuous delivery, enterprise applications, and cloud automation.
  • 7 years in Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, React

    JS, and Redux; skilled with Git Ops, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • 7 years building cloud‑native, microservices‑based applications in containerized environments, with strong expertise in RESTful APIs, automation, and SDLC tools.
  • 7 years database experience (SQL and No

    SQL), solid knowledge of software design patterns, TDD, CI/CD, and developing rich, interactive enterprise web interfaces.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills; bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Desired Skills
  • Experienced in deploying and managing apps on AWS, GCP, VMWare, Open Stack, and Open Shift, with strong GoLang, Python, AI/ML, and microservices skills.
  • Skilled in Git Ops, Terraform, Ansible, and familiar with SDLC, TDD, and CI/CD.
  • Proficient with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Fluent Bit, plus secure software practices.
